Bio

I am an artist, teacher, family member and friend: in any order depending on the day. I bring all of these parts together to make my artworks. My fine arts (Ohio University 1983) and teaching certificate (Otterbein 1993) complement each other.   Being an artist helps me be a better art teacher and being an art teacher keeps me learning and growing along with my students. Our sons are grown and so I live with Mike (spouse) and cats in what we are calling our Suburban live-in Art and Biology Space (S.L.A.A.B.S.) My art is an amalgamation of who I am and when and where I live. If you dropped it, look for it in my next artwork you might find it!

Statement

My work combines “remnants” of my interests: Sculpting, painting, found objects, wood, metal, and fabrics. I enjoy the challenge of creating these characters and am often surprised who they are when they are done! My Woman figures are inspired by objects I find, stories I create, and people I meet.
